The Racingline Rear Body Brace (VWR810003) is a precision-engineered chassis stiffening upgrade designed specifically for the VW Polo Mk6 (AW) GTI and other MQB A0 platform vehicles. By tying the rear strut towers together with a rigid carbon fibre link bar, it tightens up the rear of the car and lets the suspension do its job properly under hard driving.

Why the Rear of a Polo Needs Bracing

Modern cars like the Polo AW use a laser-welded bodyshell that is impressively stiff up front, particularly between the front suspension tops. The rear of the chassis, however, has noticeably more flex. When you push the car hard, especially on stiffer aftermarket suspension, that flex allows the rear suspension geometry to move around under load, blunting handling response and reducing grip.

This is exactly why Volkswagen fitted a factory rear brace to the more focused Golf Clubsport S. The Racingline Rear Body Brace brings that same principle to the Polo GTI, locking the key rear chassis hard points together so the suspension can work as designed.

Design and Construction

The brace uses a pair of solid billet aluminium mounts bonded to an ultra-stiff carbon fibre link bar. Carbon fibre offers an excellent stiffness to weight ratio, meaning the brace adds significant rigidity without adding noticeable weight to the rear of the car. The finish is also genuinely attractive if you choose to leave it on show.

Installation

The brace bolts to existing body mounting points in the rear of the vehicle. There is no drilling required, no trim removal, and the installation is fully reversible, making it ideal for warranty-conscious owners or anyone who may want to return the car to standard later.

The full rear interior can be retained. The brace is compatible with the rear seats in the upright position, folded down, or removed entirely for track use.
