Racingline Turbo Inlet System – EA888 Gen.4 EVO (300PS+ Continental Turbo)
The Racingline Turbo Inlet System (VWR120010) is a direct, bolt-on upgrade for 2.0 TSI Gen.4 ‘Evo’ engines fitted with the higher-output Continental turbo. If you’re running a high-flow intake on your Golf 8 R, Golf 8 GTI Clubsport, Audi S3 (8Y) or Cupra Formentor VZ5, the restrictive factory inlet pipework is the next obvious bottleneck to address.
Why the factory inlet holds you back
From the factory, air is forced through a narrow, corrugated plastic ‘bellows’ pipe before being squeezed down into a tight plastic turbo inlet. That tapered shape and rough internal surface disrupts airflow just before it reaches the turbo – exactly where smooth, unrestricted flow matters most. The end result is a limit on how much air your turbo can actually breathe in, no matter how good your intake is upstream.
What the Racingline kit changes
This is a matched two-piece kit comprising a CNC-machined Turbo 90 Inlet and a reinforced silicone turbo inlet hose. Together they replace both restrictive factory components with a smooth, large-diameter path straight into the turbo. The internal diameter increases from the factory 74mm up to 84mm – a significant jump that’s only possible by upgrading both parts together.
The Turbo 90 Inlet features an internal velocity stack (a shaped lip that helps guide air smoothly into the turbo inlet), which improves the consistency of airflow as the turbo spools. In practice, that means sharper boost response and a more linear feel when you get on the throttle.

Realistic expectations
On its own, a turbo inlet upgrade won’t transform a standard car. Its real value comes when paired with a high-flow intake system and/or an ECU tune – that’s when the factory inlet becomes the limiting factor and this kit allows the rest of your hardware to actually do its job. Think of it as removing the final restriction between your intake and your turbo.
Fitment
Designed specifically for EA888 Gen.4 ‘Evo’ engines producing 300-320PS and fitted with a Continental turbo. This includes popular models such as the VW Golf 8 R, Golf 8 GTI Clubsport, Audi S3 (8Y) and Cupra Formentor VZ. The Continental turbo specification is critical – this kit will not fit IHI-equipped variants.
