Racingline Power Control Module (PCM) for EA888 Gen.4 Engines (2020-2024)
The Racingline PCM is a plug-in tuning module developed exclusively for the latest 2.0 TSI EA888 Gen.4 engine found across the Volkswagen Group range. Designed around Racingline’s OEM+ philosophy, it delivers a meaningful step up in power and torque while keeping the smooth drivability, reliability and longevity you’d expect from a factory-engineered tune.
Unlike a flashed ECU remap, the PCM is a piggyback tuning box. It connects into existing engine sensors and intelligently adjusts the signals being sent to the ECU, allowing the engine to safely produce more power without permanently altering the factory software. When removed, the car returns to true stock.
How the PCM improves your car
Hours of research, development and real-world testing have gone into making sure both power and torque rise cleanly across the rev range, with no adverse effect on the engine. The result is a car that feels stronger, more responsive and more enjoyable to drive every day, without the harshness or unpredictability that lesser tuning boxes can introduce.
- Noticeable gains in power and torque
- Smooth, OEM-like throttle response and drivability
- Plug-in installation with no permanent changes to the ECU
- Fully removable – returns the car to standard
- Free upgrade path to future OEM+ tuning when available
Choosing the right PCM for your engine
There are two versions of the PCM, each tuned for a specific turbocharger and engine configuration. It is essential to select the correct option for your vehicle. Use the site’s vehicle lookup or check the Vehicle Fitment tab to confirm compatibility before ordering.

Installation at home
The PCM is designed for straightforward DIY installation, providing you have a basic level of mechanical knowledge. The unit sits neatly above the battery using the supplied carbon fibre battery mount and hardware, while the wiring loom plugs into existing sensors at the top of the engine. No cutting, soldering or ECU flashing is required.
Free OEM+ upgrade path
As an authorised Racingline technical partner, we are able to offer a free upgrade to the OEM+ software solution for all PCM customers when the time comes. This protects your investment and gives you a clear route forward as your tuning needs develop.
Register your PCM before use
You must register the serial number of your PCM with Racingline before use. Registration activates the device’s warranty and secures your future upgrade path. Failure to register may invalidate these benefits.
Warranty and legal considerations
Any tuning modification can invalidate your manufacturer’s engine and powertrain warranty. If your dealer identifies the PCM fitted to the car, they would be entitled to reject a warranty claim on the engine or drivetrain. The PCM is fully removable and leaves minimal trace on the ECU, but there is no guarantee that the product is warranty safe, and it is installed at the customer’s own risk.
It is also your responsibility to inform your insurer of the modification and to ensure that your vehicle continues to comply with all local road laws.
Applications
