The Racingline Software and PDM bundle is purpose-built for the 4.0 TFSI twin-turbo V8 found in the Audi RS6 and RS7 (C7). It’s a straightforward way to unlock significant performance gains from your RS, while keeping the reliability and refinement Audi engineered into the car. The tune adjusts key engine parameters, including boost control, fuelling and ignition timing, to release the performance Audi held back from the factory.

The PDM (Portable Device Module) is your personal handheld flash tool. It lets you load Racingline’s mapping onto your car at home, switch between maps, and revert to stock whenever you wish, all without a trip to a workshop.

What You Can Expect

On the 4.0 TFSI, Stage 1 tuning typically transforms an already rapid car into a genuinely fast one. You’ll feel stronger mid-range pull, sharper throttle response and a more eager top end. Figures vary slightly depending on your specific vehicle and fuel grade, but expect a meaningful step up in both power and torque over the stock output.

What You’ll Need to Flash at Home

• A Windows 10 or 11 laptop with USB port and mains power supply
• A secure wired internet connection (or a very stable Wi-Fi link) with reliable broadband speed
• A battery charger/support unit rated at 20 Amp minimum (CTEK recommended)
• Access to mains electricity for both laptop and battery charger

Important Considerations

TCU (Gearbox) Software: The RS6/RS7 uses an 8-speed automatic. To safely handle the extra torque and keep shifts crisp, we strongly recommend pairing this tune with Racingline’s TCU software. The high-torque Stage 1 file requires TCU tuning to run correctly.

Fuel Grade: Headline performance figures are based on 99 RON fuel. A 95 RON map is available if 99 RON isn’t easily accessible in your area, but peak output will be slightly lower. Never run 95 RON fuel on a car flashed with the 99 RON map.

Built-In Theft Protection

The PDM includes a clever anti-theft function that goes far beyond a standard immobiliser:

• Total Lockout: Flash an anti-theft map to render the ECU and engine completely inoperable until you return and re-flash a stock or performance map
• Zero Start: Unlike conventional immobilisers, the engine simply cannot run, ideal for high-risk car parks or when leaving the car for long periods
• Quick to Activate: Engage or disengage in moments using your PDM tool

Planning Stage 2 Later?

Once you’ve purchased Racingline software, upgrading from Stage 1 to Stage 1+ or Stage 2 is free of charge. Stage 2 does require some supporting hardware to be safe and effective on the 4.0 TFSI, including:

• Racingline performance air intake
• Performance downpipes
