The Racingline PDM Bundle is a complete at-home tuning solution for the 3.0 TDI engine in the Audi Q8. It combines Racingline’s bespoke performance software with their Performance Data Module (PDM), a handheld flashing tool that allows you to upload the new tune directly to your car’s ECU (the engine’s computer) from the comfort of your driveway.

What the Software Does

Racingline’s calibration team has reworked the standard engine mapping to release the performance already built into the 3.0 TDI platform. By optimising fuel delivery, boost pressure and ignition timing, the software delivers strong gains in both power and torque, with a particular focus on the mid-range pulling power that makes the Q8 feel effortless on the road.

You can expect noticeably sharper throttle response, stronger overtaking performance and improved drivability, while keeping the car’s everyday refinement intact.

What You’ll Need to Flash at Home

• A Windows 10/11 laptop with USB and a power supply
• A wired, or very stable Wi-Fi, high-speed broadband connection
• A battery charger/support unit (20A minimum, CTEK recommended)
• Access to mains electricity for the laptop and charger

DSG Gearbox Consideration

If your Q8 is fitted with a DSG (automatic) gearbox, you should pair this ECU tune with the matching TCU (transmission) software. The TCU tune ensures the gearbox can properly handle the increased torque, with firmer shifts and raised torque limits. Without it, the gearbox may not allow the full torque output of the engine tune, and long-term wear can be affected. The TCU software is required to run the high-torque Stage 1 tune.

Built-in Theft Protection

The PDM tool includes Racingline’s anti-theft function, giving you an extra layer of security whenever you leave the car:

• Anti-theft flash: Instantly upload a “lockdown” map that renders the ECU and engine completely inoperable
• Zero-start policy: Unlike a standard immobiliser, the engine physically cannot start until a valid map is re-flashed
• Quick control: Activate or deactivate the function in moments using the PDM

This is particularly useful in high-risk parking areas, at airports, or when leaving the car unattended for extended periods.
