Developed specifically for the EA888.4 engine paired with the Continental turbocharger, this Stage 1 tuning package delivers meaningful gains in power and torque while preserving the reliability and refinement you expect from your Tiguan R.

The PDM is a small handheld flashing tool that connects to your car’s OBD port, allowing you to upload Racingline’s calibrated tuning files directly from the comfort of your driveway. No workshop visit required, no dealer principal trips, just plug in and flash.

What the Software and PDM Bundle Does

Racingline’s calibration carefully revises the ECU’s engine mapping, boost control, fuelling and ignition timing. The result is a sharper throttle response, stronger mid-range pull and a higher top-end power figure, all delivered in a way that feels factory-smooth. Power figures are based on 99RON fuel, with 95RON maps also available where premium fuel isn’t accessible (peak outputs will be slightly lower on 95RON).

Important: Do not use 95RON fuel if your vehicle has been flashed with a 99RON map.

What You’ll Need to Flash at Home

• A Windows 10 or 11 laptop with a USB port and mains power supply
• A secure wired (or very stable Wi-Fi) high-speed broadband connection
• A battery support charger of 20A minimum (CTEK recommended) with mains power available

DSG Gearbox Owners – Please Read

The Tiguan R is fitted with a DSG (Direct Shift Gearbox) as standard. To safely handle the increased torque produced by Stage 1, a matching TCU (Transmission Control Unit) tune is essential. The high-torque Stage 1 ECU file requires the matching Racingline TCU software to be installed. We strongly recommend the combined ECU+TCU bundle for the smoothest shifts and the longest gearbox life.

Built-in Theft Protection

The PDM tool includes a clever anti-theft function that gives genuine peace of mind when parking in unfamiliar places:

• Anti-theft flash: Instantly upload an immobilising map that renders the ECU and engine completely inoperable until you return and flash a stock or performance map back on
• Zero start policy: Unlike basic immobilisers, the engine simply cannot start, no matter what
• Quick to use: Activate or deactivate in moments via the PDM

Free Upgrade Path to Stage 1+ and Stage 2

Once you’ve purchased Racingline software, the future upgrade from Stage 1 to Stage 1+ and Stage 2 is completely free of charge. When you’re ready to go further, you’ll need to add the supporting hardware:

• Racingline Performance Air Intake and Turbo Inlet Elbow
• Racingline Performance Intercooler
• Racingline Performance Downpipe
