Developed specifically for the 2.0 TSI EA888.4 engine paired with the Continental turbo, this Stage 1 tune delivers a substantial uplift in power and torque without compromising the reliability you expect from your vehicle.

The PDM is a handheld flashing tool that lets you load Racingline’s professionally developed maps onto your ECU (the engine’s control computer) from the comfort of your own driveway. No workshop visit required, just connect, flash and drive.

What the Software Delivers

Racingline’s Stage 1 calibration refines key engine parameters such as boost pressure, fuel delivery and ignition timing. The result is a more responsive throttle, stronger mid-range pull and a noticeable increase in peak horsepower and torque. The car feels sharper in everyday driving and significantly stronger when you ask for it.

Crucially, Racingline maps are developed and tested extensively on UK and European fuels, so you get reliable, repeatable performance gains rather than headline figures that only work on a dyno.

What You’ll Need to Flash at Home

• A Windows 10 or 11 laptop with a USB port and power supply
• A stable wired (or strong Wi-Fi) high-speed broadband connection
• A battery charger/support unit rated at 20A minimum (CTEK recommended)
• Mains electricity to power the laptop and charger throughout the flash

Important: A stable internet connection and constant battery voltage are essential during flashing. Interruptions to either can cause the flash to fail.

Fuel Grade and Gearbox Considerations

Headline performance figures are quoted using 99 RON fuel. A 95 RON file is available where 99 RON is not easily sourced, though peak power and torque will be slightly lower. Do not run 95 RON fuel in a vehicle flashed with the 99 RON map.

The T-Roc R uses a DSG (Direct Shift Gearbox) as standard. To run the higher-torque Stage 1 map and ensure smooth, reliable shifts under the added load, the matching Racingline TCU (Transmission Control Unit) software is required. We strongly recommend pairing this ECU tune with the TCU software for the best overall driving experience.

Free Upgrade Path

Once you own Racingline software, upgrades from Stage 1 to Stage 1+ and Stage 2 are provided free of charge. To progress beyond Stage 1, supporting hardware is required:

• Racingline performance air intake and turbo inlet elbow
• Racingline performance intercooler
• Racingline performance downpipe

Built-in Theft Protection

The PDM tool includes a clever theft-protection function that gives you genuine peace of mind when parking in unfamiliar or high-risk areas:

• Anti-theft map: Flash an immobilising map onto the ECU in minutes, making the engine completely inoperable until you flash a normal map back on
• Zero-start protection: Unlike a standard immobiliser, the engine physically cannot start, no bypass or workaround is possible
• Quick to activate: Engage or disengage the function in moments using the PDM
