The Racingline Software and PDM (Portable Device Manager) bundle is purpose-built for the VW T-Roc R fitted with the EA888.3 engine and IS38 turbocharger (models up to 2020). It’s a straightforward way to unlock significantly more power and torque from your T-Roc R, all from the comfort of your driveway, while preserving the reliability you expect from a factory setup.

What the Software Does

Racingline’s calibration adjusts the engine’s mapping, boost control, fuelling and ignition timing to safely extract more performance from the IS38 turbo setup. The result is sharper throttle response, stronger mid-range pull and a noticeable increase in peak power and torque, without compromising the engine’s long-term durability.

The PDM tool itself is a handheld device that connects between your laptop and your car’s OBD port, allowing Racingline’s servers to flash the updated software directly to your ECU.

What You’ll Need to Flash at Home

• A Windows 10 or 11 laptop with a USB port and mains power supply
• A stable, high-speed internet connection (wired preferred, strong Wi-Fi acceptable)
• A battery charger/support unit rated 20A minimum (CTEK recommended)
• Mains electricity accessible at the vehicle

A stable internet connection and battery support are essential. Interruptions during flashing can cause serious ECU issues.

Important Considerations

DSG Gearbox: If your T-Roc R has the DSG (Direct Shift Gearbox), we strongly recommend pairing this ECU software with Racingline’s TCU (Transmission Control Unit) software. The TCU tune manages the extra torque properly, ensuring clean, reliable gear changes and protecting the clutch packs from slip.

Fuel Grade: Headline performance figures are based on 99RON fuel (such as Shell V-Power or Tesco Momentum 99). A 95RON map is available if 99RON isn’t readily available in your area, though peak figures will be slightly lower. Never use 95RON fuel in a vehicle flashed with the 99RON map, as this can cause knock and engine damage.

Free Upgrade Path to Stage 1+ and Stage 2

One of the best things about Racingline software is the upgrade path. Once you’ve purchased your Stage 1 tune, moving up to Stage 1+ or Stage 2 is completely free of software charges. You only need to fit the supporting hardware.

For Stage 2, additional components are required:

• Performance air intake and turbo inlet elbow
• Performance intercooler
• Performance downpipe (decat or sports cat)

How the Process Works

2. Our team will contact you by email to confirm vehicle details and set up your personal Racingline digital account.
3. Your PDM tool is dispatched directly to you, pre-loaded with access to the correct software for your T-Roc R.
4. Connect, follow the on-screen instructions, and flash your car at home.
