Racingline Cupra Ateca Performance Software & PDM (Flash at Home)
The Racingline Software and PDM Bundle is a complete Stage 1 tuning solution for the Cupra Ateca fitted with the EA888.3 engine and IS38 turbo (up to 2020 model year). It delivers a substantial lift in power and torque while keeping the factory reliability and drivability you expect from your vehicle.
As an authorised Racingline retailer, we supply the official PDM (Personal Device Manager) flashing tool together with Racingline’s calibrated software files, allowing you to tune your Ateca safely from home.
What the PDM Bundle Does
The PDM is a handheld flashing device that connects between your laptop and your car’s OBD port. It loads Racingline’s revised engine calibration onto your ECU, adjusting key parameters such as boost pressure, fuelling, ignition timing and torque limits. The result is a sharper throttle response, stronger mid-range pull and a noticeable gain in peak power and torque – all without compromising the engine’s safety margins.
Because the tool is yours to keep, you can also return the car to standard at any time, which is useful for servicing or resale.
What You’ll Need to Flash at Home
- A Windows 10 or 11 laptop with USB port and mains power supply
- A stable wired broadband connection (or very reliable Wi-Fi)
- A battery support charger rated at 20A minimum (CTEK recommended)
- Access to a mains power socket for both laptop and charger
A battery charger is essential. Flashing the ECU draws significant power, and a drop in voltage during the process can interrupt the update.
Important Considerations
DSG Gearbox: If your Ateca is fitted with the DSG transmission, we strongly recommend pairing this software with the Racingline TCU (gearbox) software. Stage 1 power increases torque output, and the TCU update ensures the gearbox handles the extra force smoothly, with improved shift speed and clutch clamping.
Fuel Grade: Peak performance figures are quoted on 99 RON fuel (such as Shell V-Power or Tesco Momentum). A 95 RON file is also available where premium fuel isn’t readily accessible, although peak output will be slightly lower. Do not use 95 RON in a car running the 99 RON map, as this can cause knock and engine damage.
Room to Grow – Free Upgrades to Stage 1+ and Stage 2
Once you’ve purchased Racingline software, upgrades from Stage 1 to Stage 1+ and Stage 2 are provided free of charge. This gives you a clear, cost-effective upgrade path as you add supporting hardware over time.
To progress to Stage 2, the following hardware is required:
- Racingline performance air intake and turbo inlet elbow
- Racingline performance intercooler
- Performance downpipe
For DSG cars, uprated TCU software (and in some cases a clutch upgrade) is also recommended to manage the increased torque. If you’re planning beyond Stage 1, get in touch with our team first so we can help you plan the build properly.
