The Racingline Software and PDM bundle is a Stage 1 tuning package developed specifically for the CZGB 2.5 TFSI engine fitted to the Pre-facelift Audi RS3 8V. It allows you to unlock significant gains in power and torque from the comfort of your own driveway, using Racingline’s purpose built handheld tuning tool (PDM) and their carefully developed software calibration.

As an authorised Racingline retailer, we supply the genuine PDM device along with full access to Racingline’s tuning files for your specific vehicle. The result is a smoother, stronger and more responsive RS3, without compromising the reliability that the five cylinder turbo engine is known for.

What the Bundle Does

The PDM (Personal Device Manager) is a handheld flashing tool that connects to your car’s OBD port. It writes Racingline’s revised ECU map onto your vehicle, adjusting fuelling, ignition timing, boost pressure and throttle response. The factory engine is conservatively mapped, and this calibration safely makes use of the headroom that already exists in the hardware.

Expect a noticeable lift in mid-range torque, stronger top-end pull and a more eager throttle response in everyday driving. The fundamentals of the factory tune, such as cold-start behaviour, fuel economy under light load and emissions related functions, are preserved.

What You’ll Need to Flash at Home

• A Windows 10 or 11 laptop with a USB port and mains power supply
• A secure wired connection, or very stable high-speed Wi-Fi
• A battery charger or support unit capable of at least 20A (CTEK recommended)
• Access to mains electricity for the laptop and charger

The battery support unit is essential. Flashing the ECU draws power continuously, and a drop in voltage during the process can interrupt the flash. Do not attempt to flash without proper battery support.

Important Considerations

DSG / S tronic Gearbox: The RS3 uses a 7-speed S tronic dual clutch transmission. To handle the extra torque cleanly and avoid the gearbox pulling timing under load, we strongly recommend pairing this software with Racingline’s TCU (transmission) software. Without it, you may experience torque limiting in higher gears and the full benefit of the tune will be masked.

Fuel Grade: Peak figures are quoted on 99 RON fuel (such as Shell V-Power or Tesco Momentum 99). A 95 RON file is also available where 99 RON is not practical, but power figures will be slightly lower. Never run 95 RON fuel on a map calibrated for 99 RON, as this can lead to detonation and engine damage.

Free Upgrade Path to Stage 2

One of the standout benefits of buying Racingline software is that the upgrade from Stage 1 to Stage 2 is free once you own the licence. When you’re ready to push further, you’ll need supporting hardware:

• Racingline performance air intake and turbo inlet elbow
• Racingline performance intercooler
• A performance downpipe
