The Racingline Software and PDM Bundle is a Stage 1 tuning package developed specifically for the Golf Mk7 GTI fitted with the EA888.3 engine and IS20 turbocharger. It delivers a substantial boost in power and torque while preserving the reliability and drivability you’d expect from a factory car. The PDM (Performance Data Module) is Racingline’s handheld flashing tool, allowing you to safely upload the new engine map at home using your own laptop.

As an authorised Racingline retailer, we supply the genuine PDM hardware along with your unique software licence, ready to flash directly to your vehicle’s ECU.

What the Tune Delivers

Racingline’s calibration adjusts the engine’s core parameters, including ignition timing, fuelling, and boost control, to unlock the IS20 turbo’s true potential. The result is sharper throttle response, stronger mid-range pull, and a meaningful increase in peak power and torque, all while staying within safe operating limits for the standard hardware.

All variants of the Mk7 GTI (220PS to 245PS) reach the same peak figures once tuned, so even the base GTI gains a significant uplift.

What You’ll Need to Flash at Home

• A Windows 10 or 11 laptop with a USB port and mains power supply
• A secure wired (or very stable Wi-Fi) high-speed broadband connection
• A battery charger/support unit rated at 20A minimum (CTEK brand recommended)
• Access to mains electricity at the vehicle

Important Considerations Before Tuning

Manual gearbox owners: the increase in torque can exceed the limits of the standard clutch. We strongly recommend upgrading the clutch before tuning to avoid slip under load.

DSG gearbox owners: consider the combined ECU + TCU software bundle. Tuning the TCU (Transmission Control Unit) ensures the gearbox can handle the extra torque cleanly and shifts remain crisp.

Fuel grade: peak performance figures are based on 99RON fuel. A 95RON map is available if 99RON isn’t accessible in your area, though peak figures will be slightly lower. Never run 95RON fuel in a car mapped for 99RON.

Free Upgrade Path to Stage 2

One of the best features of Racingline software is that the upgrade from Stage 1 to Stage 2 is completely free once you own the licence. When you’re ready to go further, you’ll need supporting hardware to make the most of Stage 2:

• Performance air intake and turbo inlet elbow
• Performance intercooler
• Performance downpipe

3. Your PDM tool is dispatched directly to you, pre-loaded with access to the correct software for your vehicle.
4. Connect, follow the on-screen instructions, and flash your car at home.
