NGK Iridium Spark Plug (91898) – ILFER7C8EG
The NGK ILFER7C8EG is a high-performance iridium spark plug designed for modern turbocharged engines. As an authorised NGK retailer, we supply the genuine article, the same plug trusted by leading manufacturers as original equipment. This particular reference is a direct cross to VW OE part number 06K 905 601 L, making it a popular fit on many VAG 2.0 TSI engines.
What makes iridium different?
Iridium is one of the hardest precious metals available, which allows NGK to produce an exceptionally fine centre electrode. A finer tip means the spark fires more efficiently, the plug fouls less easily, and the wear rate stays slow over a long service life. In practical terms, that translates to a more stable idle, better cold starts, cleaner combustion, and a small but worthwhile gain in fuel efficiency and emissions performance.
This plug also features a double precious metal configuration, with the ground (earthed) electrode tipped to match the centre electrode. The result is balanced wear on both sides of the spark gap and consistent ignition performance throughout the plug’s life.
Key benefits
- Iridium centre electrode for a precise, reliable spark
- Slow wear rate and long service life
- Improved anti-fouling, ideal for direct injection turbo engines
- Stable idle and smoother running
- Integral 1kOhm resistor for interference suppression
- Genuine OE replacement for VW 06K 905 601 L
