NF Additives ULTRA Unleaded Race Fuel Concentrate 1L (+10 RON)
NF ULTRA is the flagship octane booster from NF Additives, designed to turn ordinary pump fuel into something closer to a proper race fuel. Add a 1 litre tin to your tank and you can raise the octane rating by up to 10 RON, depending on how much petrol you mix it with. It is fully synthetic, safe for modern engines, and trusted by tuners and race teams around the world.
Unlike many octane boosters that simply raise the RON number, NF ULTRA also contains a power booster that increases the energy content of the fuel itself. That means you get the anti-knock protection needed for higher boost or more aggressive ignition timing, plus a genuine lift in the energy released during combustion.
Why use an octane booster?
Higher octane fuel resists “knock” – the uncontrolled detonation (early or uneven burning of fuel) that can damage pistons and rings. Tuned engines, high compression engines and turbocharged cars often need a higher octane than UK pump super unleaded (97-99 RON) to run safely at their full potential. Topping up with NF ULTRA gives your ECU the headroom to deliver the timing and boost it was mapped for.
Mixing guide – how much to add
- 1 litre into 60 litres of pump fuel: +6 RON
- 1 litre into 40 litres of pump fuel: +8 RON
- 1 litre into 20 litres of pump fuel: +10 RON

NF ULTRA is one of the most thoroughly tested octane boosters on the market. It has passed the BMW NA/SwRI IVD test (ASTM D5500-98) for valve and combustion chamber deposits, the MIRA test for valve seat protection, and the Ford USA test for contaminant retention, catalytic converter safety and overall engine compatibility.
Octane gains have been laboratory verified using the ASTM D2699 method – the same standard refineries use to certify the octane rating of petrol. Fuel economy and emissions benefits have been independently tested by Ford Australia under AS 2877 across both highway and city cycles.
