It’s a straightforward yet effective way to keep intake temperatures down and power consistent, particularly on tuned or hard-driven cars.

Why upgrade the intercooler?

An intercooler’s job is to cool the compressed air leaving the turbo before it enters the engine. Cooler air is denser, which means more oxygen for combustion and more reliable power. The standard intercooler on these engines is known to “heat soak” under sustained load, meaning intake air temperatures (IAT) climb and the ECU pulls power to protect the engine. This is especially noticeable on remapped cars or during track use.

The Racingline intercooler tackles this with a much larger, higher-capacity core that holds cooler temperatures for longer and recovers more quickly between pulls.
