Designed to replace the restrictive factory airbox, this complete intake kit delivers a steady flow of cool, dense air to the engine, giving you more power, sharper throttle response, and a satisfying induction note under load.

The standard airbox on the EA888.1 2.0 TSI engine is a well-known bottleneck, particularly once the car has been remapped. Racingline addresses this with a large-diameter intake path and a high-flow filter housed in a fully-enclosed, black-anodised aluminium chamber that draws cold air directly from the front of the car.

Performance Gains You Can Feel

Developed alongside the Volkswagen Racing team, this intake has been tested to deliver measurable improvements over the factory system:

• Up to 9% greater airflow at peak power compared to the original intake.
• Turbo spool reduced by as much as 500rpm in some cases, for quicker response off-boost.
• Improved support for Stage 1 and Stage 2 remaps thanks to the huge filter surface area.

Real-world results will depend on your car’s existing modifications and state of tune, but even on a standard vehicle you’ll notice a crisper throttle response and a more eager feel through the rev range.

Choose Your Filter: Trifoam® or Pleated Cotton

Both filter options are handmade in the UK and engineered to balance maximum airflow with effective filtration:

• Trifoam® Foam Filter – Racingline’s unique three-layer foam construction, ideal for road use with excellent filtration across a wide range of conditions.
• Pleated Cotton Filter – A traditional cotton gauze design with a large pleated surface area for high flow and easy cleaning.

Both filters sit inside the fully-enclosed aluminium housing, which doubles as a ram-air style intake, keeping the filter shielded from hot engine bay air.

Sound Without the Drone

Because the housing is fully sealed rather than open to the engine bay, you get a rich, purposeful induction sound under hard acceleration without the constant drone that comes with open cone filters. It’s a noticeable improvement over standard, but still civilised enough for daily driving.

Build Quality and Finish

The intake pipework and housing are made from black-anodised aluminium, finished to a high standard and designed for a clean, OEM-quality look under the bonnet. Mounting points use the original locations, so installation is straightforward with basic hand tools.
