The Racingline Software and PDM (Portable Device Manager) bundle is a complete at-home tuning solution for the 3.0 TDI engine found in the Audi A6 C8. It allows you to unlock meaningful gains in power and torque from your own driveway, using Racingline’s proven calibrations and their dedicated handheld flashing device.

What the Bundle Includes

You receive the Racingline PDM handheld tool, paired with the Stage 1 performance software calibrated specifically for the Audi A6 C8 3.0 TDI. The PDM connects to your vehicle’s OBD port and, with the help of a laptop, flashes the new map directly to your engine’s ECU (the computer that controls how the engine runs).

Performance Gains

Racingline’s Stage 1 software refines the standard engine mapping, including fuel delivery, boost pressure and timing. The result is a stronger, more responsive engine with improved mid-range pull, which is where most everyday driving takes place. Peak power and torque both increase noticeably, and throttle response feels sharper.

*Quoted stock figures reflect the lowest-powered variant in the range. All versions of the 3.0 TDI produce the same peak figures once tuned.

What You’ll Need to Flash at Home

• A Windows 10 or 11 laptop with a working USB port and mains power supply
• A secure wired internet connection (a very stable Wi-Fi signal will work, but wired is preferred)
• A battery support charger rated at 20A minimum (CTEK recommended)
• Access to a mains power socket near the vehicle

Built-In Theft Protection

The PDM tool includes Racingline’s Theft Protection function, giving you an extra layer of security:

• Anti-theft map: Flash a special map to your ECU that makes the engine completely inoperable until you re-flash a working map
• Zero start: Unlike a typical immobiliser, the engine physically cannot start, ideal for high-risk parking situations or when travelling
• Quick control: Activate and deactivate the feature in moments using the PDM

Important Note for DSG Vehicles

If your A6 is fitted with a DSG (Direct Shift Gearbox), the matching Racingline TCU (Transmission Control Unit) software is required to safely run the higher-torque Stage 1 tune. The standard gearbox software cannot manage the additional torque properly, which can cause harsh shifts or long-term clutch wear. Pairing the ECU and TCU tunes ensures smooth, well-managed gear changes that match the extra performance.

3. Your PDM tool is sent out to you, pre-loaded with access to the correct software for your specific vehicle.
4. Connect the PDM, follow the on-screen guidance, and flash your car at home.
