What the Software Does

The Racingline ECU software recalibrates key engine parameters, including boost pressure, fuelling, ignition timing and throttle response. The result is a sharper, more responsive car with significantly improved acceleration across the rev range. Stage 1 figures are based on 99RON fuel, with 95RON files available if higher-octane fuel is not accessible in your area.

Important: do not use 95RON fuel in a car flashed with the 99RON map.

What You’ll Need at Home

• A Windows 10 or 11 laptop with USB port and power supply
• Stable high-speed internet (wired connection preferred, strong Wi-Fi acceptable)
• A battery support charger rated 20A or above (CTEK recommended)
• Access to mains electricity at the vehicle

Things to Consider Before Tuning

The extra power and torque produced by Stage 1 software places additional demand on certain drivetrain components. Please review the following before ordering:

• Manual gearbox: we strongly recommend upgrading the clutch before tuning, as the added torque can exceed the standard clutch’s holding capacity.
• DSG gearbox: pair the ECU software with Racingline’s TCU (Transmission Control Unit) software bundle. This ensures the gearbox handles the increased torque smoothly and shifts remain crisp.
• Fuel grade: 99RON delivers the headline figures. 95RON files are available but produce slightly lower peak numbers.

Performance Expectations

All variants of the S3 8V (290PS and 300PS) produce the same peak figures once tuned, as the underlying hardware is identical. Expect a noticeable real-world improvement in mid-range pull and top-end power, transforming how the car feels in everyday driving and on the open road.

Looking Beyond Stage 1?

Once you own Racingline software, upgrades to Stage 1+ and Stage 2 are free of charge. Stage 2 requires supporting hardware to safely handle the increased output:

• Performance air intake and turbo inlet elbow
• Uprated intercooler
• Performance downpipe
