The Racingline Magnetic Drain/Fill Plug Set is designed specifically for MQB platform vehicles with Haldex all-wheel drive systems, helping you remove harmful metal debris from your differential oil at every service.

Why Fit a Magnetic Drain Plug?

Inside every differential and transfer box, gears mesh under constant load. The harder the car is driven, and the more power it produces, the more tiny ferrous (iron-based) metal particles can end up suspended in the oil. Left unchecked, this debris circulates with the lubricant and can accelerate wear on bearings and gear surfaces.

The Racingline magnetic plug uses a strong magnet to capture these microscopic metal particles, holding them safely away from moving components until your next oil change. It is a small change that makes a meaningful difference to long-term drivetrain reliability, especially on tuned or hard-driven cars.

How Many Kits Do You Need?

The number of kits required depends on which Haldex generation your vehicle uses. Please read the following carefully before ordering:

Haldex Generation 5 (MQB AWD vehicles): Order 2 kits per vehicle – one for the front transfer box and one for the rear differential final drive.

Haldex Generation 4 (AWD vehicles): Order 1 kit per vehicle for the rear differential final drive.

Haldex Generation 2 (AWD vehicles): Order 1 kit per vehicle for the rear differential final drive.

Fitment

This plug set is designed for a wide range of all-wheel drive Volkswagen Group vehicles using Haldex Generation 2, 4, and 5 systems, including popular Golf R, S3, RS3, Audi TT and Cupra models. Simple to Install

There is no special preparation needed. At your next differential or transfer box oil service, simply remove the factory plugs and thread in the Racingline magnetic drain plug and non-magnetic filler plug using the supplied sealing washers. The kit includes enough washers for five services, so you have replacements ready for years of regular maintenance.

Important: Always fit a fresh sealing washer at each service and torque the plugs to the manufacturer’s specification to prevent leaks.
