Racingline Engine Mount – Polo Mk6 GTI (AW) & Audi A1 40TFSI (GB)

If you’ve added power to your Polo GTI or A1 40TFSI, or simply want a tighter, more connected drive, the Racingline Engine Mount (VWR150001) is one of the most effective upgrades you can fit. It replaces the soft factory mount with a precision-engineered part that holds the engine and gearbox firmly in place, sharpening throttle response and cleaning up power delivery to the wheels.

Why upgrade the engine mount?

The standard engine mount uses a soft rubber compound. This is great for keeping the cabin quiet, but it allows the engine and gearbox to rock around noticeably under load. You feel this as a slight delay or “slack” when you get on and off the throttle, and as wheel-hop (a juddering sensation as the drivetrain shakes under hard acceleration).

The Racingline mount is CNC-machined and uses a carefully chosen polymer stiffness (known as the durometer rating) to firmly locate the drivetrain without making the car uncomfortable on the road. The result is a noticeably tighter, more responsive car that puts its power down cleanly.

What you’ll notice once it’s fitted

• Far less engine and gearbox movement under acceleration and braking
• Crisper, more decisive DSG gearshifts
• Wheel-hop off the line is virtually eliminated
• Sharper throttle response, both on and off the pedal
• Better protection for the drivetrain on tuned or hard-driven cars

There is a small increase in noise, vibration and harshness (NVH) compared to the original part, as you would expect from any stiffer mount. Racingline has worked hard to keep this to a sensible level, and most drivers find it a very fair trade for the improvement in feel.

Properly engineered, not a bush insert

Some aftermarket solutions simply push rubber or polyurethane inserts into the voids of the factory mount. The Racingline part is a completely redesigned, fully engineered replacement mount, machined from solid and built to last. This makes it a far stronger and more consistent solution, particularly for cars running a Stage 1 or Stage 2 tune where the standard mount is easily overwhelmed.
