Racingline R600 Intake System for MQB EA888 Gen.3 & Gen.4 EVO Engines
The Racingline R600 is one of the most popular and best-performing cold air intake systems available for the MQB platform. It replaces your factory airbox entirely with a high-capacity, fully enclosed system featuring twin front air intakes and a huge double-volume filter rated up to 600hp. The result is cooler intake air, improved airflow, and meaningful power gains, especially on tuned cars.
Designed and hand-built in the UK to OEM standards, the R600 fits like a factory part and lasts like one too. It uses the original mounting points, retains the factory drain tube connection, and even includes an SAI connection for US-spec cars. The PU airbox material is textured to match the standard engine cover, giving a finish that looks completely at home in the bay.

Trifoam® Foam or Pleated Cotton Filter?
The R600 is available with your choice of filter, both rated to 600hp and beyond:
- Foam (Trifoam®) – the highest airflow of any filter type, giving the best possible power output. Requires regular cleaning and re-oiling to stay at its best.
- Cotton (Pleated) – a robust “fit and forget” filter that lasts for years. Excellent initial airflow, though without the dust-loading capacity of the Trifoam.
Personalise Your R600
Choose from a standard plastic lid that matches the factory engine cover, or upgrade to gloss or matte carbon fibre for a real showpiece under the bonnet. Combined with your choice of filter material, you can spec the intake to suit your build.
Power Gains and Tuning
On a stock car, fitting an R600 alone will typically yield a small power increase of a few brake horsepower. The real benefits come when it is paired with a Stage 1, 2 or 3 tune, where the less restrictive intake allows the engine to make full use of the extra fuel and boost. Many Stage 1 cars with an R600 have seen gains of around 15bhp over a Stage 1 car running stock intake hardware. Results will vary depending on tune, supporting mods and conditions, but the R600 is widely regarded as one of the first hardware upgrades worth fitting on these engines.
Fitment
The R600 is designed for popular VW, Audi, SEAT, Cupra and Skoda models running the EA888 Gen.3 (2.0 TSI and 1.8 TSI) and EA888 Gen.4 EVO (2.0 TSI) engines, including Golf GTI/R, Audi S3, Cupra Leon, Octavia vRS, Arteon R, Tiguan R and more. The Gen.4 EVO version fits cars with both Continental and Garrett turbos.

Installation
If you are comfortable with basic hand tools, the R600 is a straightforward DIY upgrade that can usually be completed in a couple of hours.
