This Stage 1 tuning package gives you a meaningful step up in performance, all from the comfort of your driveway, without needing to visit a workshop.
Racingline’s calibration refines the engine’s existing fuelling, ignition and boost settings to release the performance that the factory ECU keeps in reserve. The result is stronger pull through the rev range, sharper throttle response and a more rewarding drive, while staying within sensible mechanical limits.
What the Bundle Includes
The PDM is Racingline’s own handheld flashing tool. You connect it to your car’s OBD port and to a laptop, and it downloads the correct map for your vehicle, then writes it to the ECU. It’s a straightforward process designed for home users, and it also lets you switch back to the original factory map whenever you need to.
Performance Gains
On a healthy standard Ibiza Cupra 1.8 TSI running 99 RON fuel, expect a solid increase in both power and torque over the factory figures, with the biggest improvement felt in mid-range pulling power. A 95 RON map is also available where premium fuel isn’t easily found, although peak figures will be slightly lower.
Important: never run a 95 RON tune on 99 RON fuel mapping, or vice versa. Always use the fuel grade your map is calibrated for.
What You’ll Need to Flash at Home
- A Windows 10 or 11 laptop with a working USB port and mains power supply
- A secure wired internet connection (a very stable Wi-Fi signal can work as a backup)
- A battery support charger rated at 20A minimum – CTEK is recommended
- Access to a mains power socket for the laptop and charger
Things to Consider Before Tuning
Clutch: If your Ibiza Cupra has a manual gearbox, we strongly recommend upgrading the clutch before flashing. The extra torque from a Stage 1 map can exceed what the standard clutch can hold, leading to slip under load.
Engine health: Tuning amplifies the condition of your engine. Make sure your car is well maintained, with fresh spark plugs, good quality oil and no existing fault codes, before applying any performance software.
Free Upgrade Path to Stage 2
Once you’ve purchased Racingline software, the upgrade from Stage 1 to Stage 2 is free of charge. To make full use of Stage 2, you’ll need to add the supporting hardware:
- Racingline Performance Air Intake and Turbo Inlet Elbow
- Racingline Performance Intercooler
- Performance Downpipe
For DSG-equipped cars, a TCU (transmission control unit) tune is also recommended to handle the extra torque cleanly. If you’re planning to go beyond Stage 1, we’d suggest getting in touch to map out the full upgrade path before buying individual parts.
