What the Software Does

Racingline’s Stage 1 software refines the engine’s standard ECU mapping, optimising fuelling, ignition timing and boost control. The result is a smoother, more responsive engine with stronger pull throughout the rev range. The PDM (Performance Data Module) is a handheld flashing tool that connects your vehicle to Racingline’s secure servers, allowing you to load the correct tune directly through your OBD port at home.

What You’ll Need to Flash at Home

• A Windows 10 or 11 laptop with USB port and mains power supply
• A secure wired (or very stable Wi-Fi) high-speed broadband connection
• A battery support charger of 20A minimum (CTEK recommended)
• Access to mains electricity during the flashing process

Important Considerations Before Tuning

Clutch (manual gearbox): The additional torque can exceed the limits of the standard clutch. We strongly recommend upgrading your clutch before flashing if your Superb is a manual.

DSG gearbox: If your vehicle has a DSG (Direct Shift Gearbox – VW’s automated dual-clutch transmission), consider the combined ECU + TCU software bundle. The TCU (Transmission Control Unit) tune ensures the gearbox handles the extra torque cleanly and shifts remain crisp.

Fuel grade: Headline performance figures are based on 99RON fuel. A 95RON map is available if 99RON is not accessible to you, though peak figures will be slightly lower. Do not use 95RON fuel in a vehicle tuned for 99RON.

Once you own Racingline software, the upgrade from Stage 1 to Stage 2 is completely free. To unlock the full Stage 2 potential, the following hardware upgrades are required:
