The Racingline Software and PDM bundle is purpose-built for the Mk7.5 Golf R fitted with the EA888.3 engine, IS38 turbo and GPF (petrol particulate filter). It’s a straightforward way to unlock a significant step up in performance from your Golf R, while keeping the reliability and refinement you expect from a factory-quality calibration.

The PDM (Portable Device Manager) is Racingline’s home flashing tool. It sends with access to the correct software for your vehicle, allowing you to flash the ECU yourself from the comfort of your driveway, no workshop visit required.

What the Software Delivers

Racingline’s Stage 1 calibration carefully revises the engine’s fuelling, ignition timing and boost control. The result is a noticeable lift in power and torque across the rev range, with sharper throttle response and stronger mid-range pull. Drivability remains smooth and predictable, with all factory safety strategies preserved.

Peak figures are based on 99RON fuel. A 95RON file is available if higher octane fuel is not readily accessible, though peak outputs will be slightly lower.

Important: never run 95RON fuel in a vehicle flashed with the 99RON map.

What You’ll Need to Flash at Home

• A Windows 10 or 11 laptop with USB port and mains power supply
• A secure, high-speed wired internet connection (a very stable WiFi connection is acceptable)
• A battery support charger rated at 20A minimum (CTEK recommended)
• Access to mains electricity for the laptop and battery charger

Things to Consider Before Tuning

A Stage 1 tune produces meaningfully more torque than standard, so a few considerations apply depending on your specification:

• Manual gearbox: we strongly recommend an uprated clutch before flashing, as the standard clutch can struggle with the additional torque.
• DSG gearbox: consider pairing this software with Racingline’s TCU (transmission control unit) software. This manages the extra torque properly, sharpens shifts and protects the gearbox over the long term.
• Fuel grade: use 99RON wherever possible to achieve the quoted figures.

Moving Beyond Stage 1

One of the benefits of buying Racingline software is the free upgrade path. Once you own the Stage 1 file, upgrading to Stage 1+ and Stage 2 software is included at no extra cost.

For Stage 2, additional hardware is required to safely support the higher outputs:

• Performance air intake and turbo inlet elbow
• Performance intercooler
• Performance downpipe

Fitment

This package is developed specifically for the VW Golf Mk7.5 R fitted with the GPF (petrol particulate filter), running the EA888.3 engine and IS38 turbocharger. All variants of the Mk7.5 R (290PS and 300PS) reach the same peak figures once tuned.
