The Racingline Software and PDM Bundle is purpose built for the EA888.3 engine fitted with the IS38 turbo, as found in the VW Golf Mk7 GTI Clubsport. It’s a straightforward way to unlock meaningful performance gains from your factory hardware, while keeping the smooth drivability and reliability you’d expect from a manufacturer-backed tune.

Racingline’s calibrations are developed in-house by their UK engineering team, using extensive dyno and real-world testing. The result is a Stage 1 upgrade that delivers a noticeable lift in power and torque, sharper throttle response, and a stronger pull through the mid-range.

What the Bundle Includes

You’ll receive the Racingline PDM (Personal Download Manager) tool, plus access to the Stage 1 software file matched to your specific vehicle. The PDM allows you to flash the new map onto your car’s ECU at home, in your own driveway or garage. No workshop visit required.

The software refines key engine parameters including boost pressure, ignition timing, fuelling and throttle mapping to safely extract more from the IS38 turbo and EA888.3 platform.

What You’ll Need to Flash at Home

• A Windows 10 or 11 laptop with a USB port and mains power supply
• A secure wired broadband connection (or a very stable Wi-Fi signal)
• A battery charger/support unit rated at 20A minimum (CTEK recommended)
• Access to mains electricity throughout the flashing process

Important Considerations Before Tuning

Manual gearbox cars: We strongly recommend upgrading the clutch before tuning. The extra torque from Stage 1 can exceed the holding capacity of the standard clutch, leading to slip under load.

DSG gearbox cars: Consider pairing this software with Racingline’s TCU (gearbox software) upgrade. The TCU tune manages the additional torque, sharpens shift speed and ensures the gearbox works in harmony with the new ECU map.

Fuel grade: Headline performance figures are based on 99RON super unleaded fuel. A 95RON file is available if 99RON isn’t accessible in your area, though peak power and torque will be slightly lower. Do not run 95RON fuel in a car flashed with the 99RON file.

Room to Grow: Stage 2 Upgrade Path

Once you’ve purchased Racingline software, the upgrade from Stage 1 to Stage 2 is free of charge. Stage 2 unlocks further gains but requires supporting hardware to run safely and effectively:

• Racingline performance air intake and turbo inlet elbow
• Racingline performance intercooler
• Racingline performance downpipe
